Charlotte Hawkins, 45, has insisted “rumours” about her getting a “new part-time job” at a supermarket are “unfounded” after her colourful dress was compared to the Sainsbury’s uniform by Good Morning Britain viewers. The presenter stepped out in a colour block knitted dress to host the ITV show this morning, decorated in shades of purple, orange and white.

Charlotte stunned in the outfit, which showed off her slender figure and nipped her in at the waist.

However, fans were quick to make comparisons between the Karen Millen outfit and the uniform worn by staff at Sainsbury’s due to its similar colours.

Charlotte shared a snap of her look in view of her 211,000 Instagram followers behind-the-scenes of GMB, to which her co-star Alex Beresford cheekily replied: “Aisle 14, by the broccoli, 10:30am.”

A fan then joked: “Did you get nectar points with that one?”

In response, Charlotte hit back by sharing a side by side snap of her posing in the dress and an image of the Sainsbury’s uniform.

She then wrote in view of her 228,000 followers: “Thank you for the comments on my dress on @gmb this morning, but rumours I have a new part-time job at @sainsburys are unfounded… [laughing emoji].”

Twitter users took to the comments section to address Charlotte’s funny response to the comments about her outfit.

“Can you tell me which aisle the tinned tuna is in?” BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker mischievously remarked, to which Charlotte replied with laughing emojis.

A fan added: “Well as someone who works for Sainsbury’s, we could do with all the help we can get this time of year!! The dress looks lovely on you tho.”(sic)

A third person replied: “You look gorgeous charlotte, don’t take any notice of negative comments, they’re only jealous.”

A fourth admirer commented: “If the staff at Sainbury’s looked that good I’d be in there every day.”

The star posted a sneak peek of the new cover of her album Mindful Moments on Twitter to share the news.

The CD features 45 of her favourite classical tracks and will be out next month as the festive season approaches.

“Thrilled to say I have a CD coming out in time for Christmas!

“It’s called Mindful Moments & I’ve put together 45 beautiful tracks, my way of sending out a musical hug to anyone who needs one.”

She concluded by writing: “Out Dec 11, available to pre-order NOW.”

Charlotte’s album features tracks from some of the most-loved names in classical music including Debussy, Bach and Beethoven.
