Andy Cohen is all for Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute‘s firing from Vanderpump Rules!
As you’re likely aware, the ladies were axed from the Bravo series on Tuesday following accusations made by former cast member Faith Stowers. It was also announced that Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni would not be returning after their past racist tweets were uncovered.
On Wednesday morning, Cohen told his SiriusXM Radio Andy listeners:
“There’s so much happening in the Bravo universe. I will say this: so much talk about Vanderpump Rules and then of course the reunion ended up airing last night. I will say this about what happened. I absolutely support Bravo’s decision, I think it was the right decision.”
He also clarified his position within Bravo — that he has no current control over programming, hiring, or firing! Cohen added:
“And I want to remind people because I’ve been getting so many tweets and messages and whatever about Vanderpump Rules and about Southern Charm and other shows. I am not, I don’t—I feel like I remind people this all the time—I’m not in charge of programming at Bravo anymore. I am not an Executive Producer of Vanderpump Rules. I don’t have anything to do with the show except I love it and that I host the reunions.”
The 52-year-old concluded:
“I don’t produce the show so what I want people to know is I have no say in hiring and firing.”
Meanwhile, the fallout is STILL happening for Stassi. It’s been fast and swift, and we’re honestly not surprised! If you assumed we’d hear from Schroeder on a podcast episode anytime soon about her firing, that doesn’t seem to be a possibility anymore.
Radio.com, which produces her show Straight Up With Stassi, issued a stern statement on Instagram yesterday, announcing they had parted ways with the former reality star:
“Official message from RADIO.COM: We recently learned of racially charged and inappropriate actions by Stassi Schroeder during one of her previous projects. In light of this, Radio.com has made the decision to part ways with her. We take these matters very seriously and condemn these actions. ‘Straight Up with Stassi’ has been removed from our portfolio.”
The podcast has been taken down from major streaming apps, too, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher. Episode recaps are still available on Stassi’s website though.
