SADLY I had to pull out of the London Marathon and defer my place until next year after injuring my calf – but there are plenty of people who didn’t manage to injure themselves before the big day.

Vita Coco coconut water contains naturally occurring electrolytes such as potassium.
For runners, potassium is great. It helps to prevent muscle cramp. The coconut water has 24kcals per 100ml, 4.7g carbs and 4.2g sugar.

Budget: Skin Republic, Foot Repair
A serum-infused foot mask to repair dry skin. Contains shea butter to hydrate, and sweet almond seed extract, rich in vitamin E, to soften skin.
Peppermint oil extract is included for its antibacterial properties. I found this really easy to use – remove the booties and place feet inside for 20 minutes.
No need to rinse and my heels were left incredibly soft.

Mid: Weleda Arnica Muscle Soak
A marathon training essential, this bath milk contains arnica to ease bruising as well as aching and strained muscles.
Rosemary and lavender essential oils bring a deeply relaxing fragrance, while invigorating birch leaf extract acts as an anti-inflammatory and eases joint pain.
The smell is immediately soothing and my muscles felt at ease after one bath.

Luxury: Murad City Skin Broad Spectrum SPF50
SPF is essential for skin protection and anti-ageing, even on cloudy days, and this is good for those outdoor runs.
Also shields skin from UVA & UVB, pollution, infrared radiation and blue light from devices.
It is ultra-lightweight and absorbed instantly. Expensive but one of the best products out there for all-round protection.
